If you are planning to buy a piano for the first time, here are some suggestions that might help you.

If you live in an apartment, buy an apartment-sized piano. Considered as good brands are Hailun, Estonia, Fazioli, Kawai, Yamaha, Petrof and Steinway & Sons. If noise level is an issue with the neighbours, you can buy a digital piano with weighted keys thus simulating the touch of a real piano which is important in developing finger dexterity and agility. Buy a digital piano if you have no choice. An upright piano or a baby grand is preferred if you are able.

If you live in a house and noise level is not an issue, buy a baby grand or an upright piano.
